A major challenge facing display manufacturers has been how to develop a new kind of display offering the same picture quality as a CRT in a slim yet large unit. Canon's SED has successfully met this challenge.

Your thread says, "stay away from digital".

The SED set in developement is a "digital" display.

It's not the old analog CRT technology you keep ranting about.

Wise up, dumbo!

Analog CRT's suck!

SEDs utilize the collision of electrons with a phosphor-coated screen to emit light. Electron emitters, which correspond to an electron gun in a CRT, are distributed in an amount equal to the number of pixels on the display.

Sounds like analog CRT technology to me...

You are splitting hairs to make your argument now son.

Actually, I read the article.

It accepts digital signals to accomplish this.

You need to wake up!

Your Toshi and every other analog CRT you're pushing cannot draw a digital signal input, period.

Tout the new and not yet available digital CRT's all you want, but pushing analog display technology is a fool's rant.

Cut it out already, tom.

An analog CRT TV also accepts digital signals. CRTs do it every day off the satelite systems and the conversion is made to a beautiful analog picture your fixed pixel Tvs can only hope to achieve someday and are benchmarked to today unsuccessfully I might add..

The quality, clarity, and brilliant color of true digital signals on true digital displays will always exceed any converted content on a CRT.

Your rant is simply not credible.
