Hi everyone.

I am very interested in buying a DLP. The model that I have ben looking at is the Toshiba 62HM84. This TV looks very nice at Best Buy. I have read a lot about some of the DLP's having a "Rainbow" effect to them, do you think this is fixed on most tv's and if so what manufacturing date would you think it would be safe to buy?

Also, what about some DLP tv's having a 1/3 second lag when playing xbox or PS2 ... read a few comments that it is happening, anyone experience this?

I'm looking for a great DLP tv for around 3,000-3,600US any ideas?

Also,

I have read this, "By the time 1080p sets arrive things will be different." What exactally does that mean?

The Toshiba 52HMX94 has a game mode setting. When switched on it solves this problem.

All rear projection DLPs use a single chip/color wheel. All DLPs will have rainbows, what matters is if you see them or not. Since my wife can see Rainbows I ended up going with the 3 chip JVC DiLA. LCD sets also use 3 chips, but you get slight motion blur with fast moving objects.
