Hi,

I just bought this Bose Home theater system at Bestbuy. The guy there told me that i can connect all the satellite speakers directly to the receiver instead of connecting them to bose sub and then connect to receiver. He said it will enhance the sound effects. is that true.

Cheers

no, the bass module serves as a crossover for the satellites. But, i could be wrong.

I don't think you would be very happy with the sound if your did that. My recollection is that the sub controlls the crossover for the small cubes. It has to be this way because the bass module crosses over at about 240hz. If you hook it up through the receiver the sattelites would sound anemic, and you would loose a lot of the audible frequency range. Just hook it up like the bose manual suggests, you will be a lot happier.

:-) Or bring it back, complain that you were told wrong and get the athena micro system with sub, which I think sounds considerably better, and hook it up through your receiver.

Or not. Have fun, enjoy.
