i have a progressive scan T.V and DVD. ive been told because both have component out avaiable, this is the option for picture quality. Is there a big difference with component out as a pose to my current s video to s video connection and if so what are the best leads for a price of around £50

Component does have slightly lower color noise but the most noticable difference is the smooth picture progressive component can pass that S-video can't. Try it with some cheap patch cables. I think you will notich the difference.
