Infrared interference

Anonymous
I'm interested in purchasing a "business plasma" the panasonic th50 phd6uy. I was told that all business or commercial plasmas do not have any infrared protection or shielding. This can make the remotes for the other components, such as the ht receiver, dvd player, satellite tuner to be non operational. Is there validity to this?

Also is dvi really better than component? why?

DVI IS A DIGITAL CONNECTION FROM THE SORCE TO THE DISPLAY. THIS ELIMINATES THE D/A CONVERTION IN THE PLAYER AND THE A/D CONVERTION IN THE MONITOR. SINCE THE SIGNAL IS DIGITAL ALL DVI IS CALIBRATED AT A STANDERD. EACH BRAND WILL NO LONGER DIFFER IN VIDEO LEVELS AND COLOR TEMP. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT COPYPROTECTION WORKS, AND WORKS WELL. BUT THE ONLY WAY TO TELL FOR SURE IS TO TEST IT OUT WITH AN A/B DEMO OF SOME KIND. I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE MYSELF. BUT I THINK THE REAL QUESTION IS, WILL A $300 DVD PLAYER WITH DVI LOOK BETTER THAN A $1500 DVD PLAYER WITH COMPONET VIDEO? I THINK WE "ALL" WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THIS.
