I need some help please. I am wondering if you can get a surround sound signal from a digital audio output on back of an LCD TV to a surround sound receiver????? I do not have just normal audio output as in RCA outputs on TV??? Craziest thing I have ever seen.....any help would be appreciated.
Since you have not provided a model number on the TV*, it can be assumed that this display is typical. Most TVs output a signal on their digital audio outs only if the TV's internal ATSC tuner is being used at the time. In other words, over the air digital signals only. You also did not specify where you signal is coming from. The digital output normally does not work when using cable or satellite.
*It's OK. Most TV owner's manuals do a damned poor job explaining the TV's digital audio out anyway.
