What's the ideal height for stereo surround sound speakers?

Noob
I'm buying a system today and would like to get speaker stands for it. What height would you guys recommend for the speakers to go on? Thanks.

Here's a link to the system I'm getting:

Most speaker stands are adjustable, so the ideal height is ear level from where you are seated

superfecta
Actually, the surrounds should be above your ears about 30-36 inches ,equally distanced from you on each side,or slightly behind you firing up,or above you firing down.It really depends on personal taste and room accoustics,so set it up and have fun.

Plus, after you have the speakers mounted, most A/V receivers will let you tweak each speaker's level (usually +/- 10dB) so you can get very nice matched sound.
