Energy C-7 anyone?

newbigland
Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has experience in placing a 5.1 system with the Energy C-7 (front), C-1 (rear), C-C-1 (center) and 10" sub with Marantz 7300 and Toshiba 51" TheaterWide? WHERE (how far from the walls and each other) SHOULD I PLACE THE SPEAKERSSSS? Thanks a billion.

Hi I've got nearly the same setup (Marantz SR5200) and all the same speakers, except no sub with mine... I have a slightly different problem with limited 'power' from the system...I can't seem to get a nice room filling sound from the system. Is this due to the lack of sub? Or do I need a more powerful amp to help out the little Marantz receiver?

Any experts, please email me and give me some advice...how do I get some better sound?

Samir,
it is very possible that your lack of a powered sub is the problem. specially if the setting on your marantz is on default for "small" speakers. If you want that room filling sound a powered subwoofer will do you a lot of good

Hey,
Ive got the same speaker setup as you, with the encore 8 sub.My C-7s are about 8 ft. apart, slightly toed in and 2ft off the wall.I really like the sound with all speakers to small.

the correct distance is based on how far back the listener is. if the listener is seated about 10 ft back then thats about how far apart the fronts should be. The Energy speakers are inefficient and do best with lots of power available to them. Still a powered sub will do wonders the 10 for a mid sized room and the 12 for a bigger room or a great room open to kitchen or dining areas. Give the sub a few weeks of pounding to break it in.
