I get nothing on that link.

However, it is irrelevant. Have you heard these speakers at all?

What are you looking to spend?

What amp do you have?

What is the size of your room?

To tell you the truth, I am not enamoured by either of these packages, but perhaps they are right if I know the answer to my questions.

Thanks for the replies I am looking to spend around $1000 not including a receiver. i save a decent amount of cash because i work at an electronics store so 1000 retail maybe a tad different. my receiver is a yamaha 5950b.
my room is about 10x18 or around there.

You have a nice sized room, which allows some flexibility. You already have your receiver, so that provides a starting point to work with. I finally got your link to work, and the Athenas are a good system, especially for that price, but unfortunately, they are not the best match for your receiver.

Your Yamaha is a tad on the bright side, which means that there is an accentuation of the upper midrange (2-4kHz). The Athenas are also a bit on the bright side, which would be too much. Therefore, the best speaker for your receiver needs to be a little warmer sounding, to help balance the entire system. I would recommend a set of speakers from PSB, using a pair of PSB B25s for the fronts ($349/pr.), a C40 center speaker ($249), and a pair of B15s for the rear ($259/pr.). The prices I quote are available from DMC Electronics (www.dmc-electronics.com).

Now, for a subwoofer, I would recommend you get a Hsu Research STF-1, which can be had for $249 directly from Hsu Research on sale. I don't know how much longer the sale will last, but I can attest that the Hsu is the best sub available for under $300, and is as good as most subs at the $600 price point. See it here:

http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/stf-1.html

This system will sound great, as the speakers will work to bring out the best in your receiver, and they are a good match, size-wise, with your room. It does come in a bit over your budget, but you could always wait on getting either the subwoofer or the surround speakers until such time as you have the cash to get them (I would wait on the surrounds as they are the least important part of a HT system). See if you can find a PSB dealer near you to listen for yourself. The B25s make excellent main speakers.

I hope this helps.

This helps without question. however, i just bought the receiver and can always take it back. is there another receiver that you might reccommend. What about the pioneer 815 -http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10 073314&catid=20313
i am not deadset on a receiver at this point so if it would be easier to get a receiver that would match the athena or polk i would do that.

Forget what receivers Best Buy sells--it is all mass market junk. Here is a great receiver at a superb price that will work great with the Athenas:

http://www.accessories4less.com/cgi-bin/item/MARSR5600

It is warm, and yet very refined. Has a wonderful power supply that will not punk out when pushed (unlike the Yammie that will produce only about 50% of rated power when driving 5 speakers instead of 2). I like the Pioneer Elite line, but not Pioneer. The Pioneer 815 is just like the Yamaha--built to the lowest cost spedification to meet a price point, so it would be no improvement.
