Help with Audio Connections

Rick
I need help connecting my DVD player audio outputs to my reciever audio inputs.
The problem is that i have three choices and i dont know which one produces the best sound.
My DVD player has a Dolby Digital decoder built in and my reciever has both Dolby and DTS.

Choice#1: Coaxial digital OUT from DVD player to Coaxial digital IN of Reciever

Choice#2: Optical digital OUT from DVD player to Optical digital IN of Reciever

Choice#3: 5.1 audio out (6 outputs) from DVD player to 5.1 audio in(6 inputs) of the reciever.

Can anybody please tell me which of the above three choices produces the best audio sound.

I recommend to use DIGITAL Coaxial for best sound. Digital Optical is good but with time, you might have problems with the fiber optic cable. If money is not an option, try www.bettercables.com which is what I'm using at home and couldn't be happier with the sound quality. They are rated one of the BEST for the money.
