Advice on purchase of subwoofers

I am currently searching for different subwoofers, and I am unsure of what to get. The three subs I had in mind were

AudioSource SW-Fifteen 200 watts
JBL PB12 - 250 watts
JBL PSWD115 15" 350 watts

I have been researching and they seem pretty good for the price. I don't know which one is the best one of them all. Is floor firing better than front firing? Is bigger woofer the better?

Please, someone help me with my decision.

Thanks

Amar,
Every design has its advantages and its limitations. The trick is to do enough research to make an informed decision. Floor or front firing, big or not so big woofers, wattage, class of amps, etc . . . you'll get so many diverse opinions on this stuff to drive you nuts. Pick a well engineered design from someone who makes this their daily bread. JBL is a good place to start. The HSU VTF-12(?) is one of the most highly reviewed and well reknown subs on the market. Bob Carver's Sunfire True Subwoofer series is also top notch. Paradigm and Velodyne make great stuff, too.
