This happens when I try to watch The Lord of The Rings extended version on VHS. I have a Sony Home Theater system...the model is STR-K840P, a JVC HiFi VCR on vid2. The HI-FI message appears on the TV screen when the popping sounds occur...it happens during the fireworks and most any time the background music swells to a climax.
