I have a plasma with just 1 HDMI port. If I have a DVD with HDMI and an HDTV set top cable box with HDMI (or DVI) what can I do?

In other words, which device benefits *MOST* from HDMI - dvd player or hdtv receiver? Which of the two would pass via component connection?

Probably hdtv receiver since current crop of DVD players and software are not produced in HD. Upconversion is very much overrated. Either one would "pass" but you will have to experiment to determine best connection as this is dependent on equipment.

I agree with dale.....

HD "MOST" benefits. Use the component connection for your DVDs.

Does anyone make a component/S-video to DVI (or HDMI) up-converter?

Hmm, answered my own question with a little Google searching. I found two. Any experience with either, anyone?
