SONY RZ422P output to TV?

I am looking to buy a large screen LCD TV and connect it to a PC, mainly to watch DVD's and prerecorded TV (Sony gigapocket with an NVIDIA GeFORCE FX5600 128mb graphics card). In the future I am also hoping to view slideshows of photo's and watch digital camcorder footage on the TV as well. Is HDTV connectivity standard or an overpriced accessory?

What inputs/outputs should I be looking for in a TV? Is it best to stick with sony? NEW TV aside can I connect to older TV's via any methods with this PC?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!!!!!

Optimally, your TV should have DVI or HDMI in. That way, you can use the DVI out on your video card.

Next would be VGA or computer input. This is in the form of a blue plug, that every moniter uses.

Then s-video. This comes out of your tv-out, and into the s-video in on TV.

You can connect all computers to a TV, providing they have TV-out.
