Home theater stacking?

rob p.
hello all,

i am getting my first home theater system in a few days and wanted to know if it is a good idea not to put anything on top of the receiver (dvd player, etc). should i keep all the components on their own shelf?

thanks for any info!

always, always, always make sure each component has its own shelf. There has to be ventalation between each piece of equipment. I have a friend whom had his vcr player sitting directly on top of his dvd player. In 6 months his dvd player was dead. $150.00 repair bill due to the heat build-up. Just imagine what would happen to your receiver, which puts out a lot more heat from all the amplifiers in it!

just don't put anything on top of a ventilated opening. And never put anything on top of the receiver. Give the receiver back space and about a foot of room above it for air.
