This is what I have to work with. The scale is an approximation, room is 9.5' x 13.5' and 8' high. Spare bedroom - probably bad acoustics.

Here are a couple actual pictures of the room taken from various corners.

Am not sure whether to place the front speakers immediately on either side of the TV, or move the TV next to the door and have the right side speaker between the door and closet, with the left side a mirror image - both speakers would be closer to the listening position than the TV. Could they still match well with the center channel this way?

Also not sure what to do about surrounds - not a whole lot of room back there, especially if I get big/tall surrounds that I can't mount up on the walls.

Currently there are no closet doors, would it make a big difference if I installed some and kept them closed while using the speakers?

If you want to know what speaker setup I plan to go with, well, I haven't decided yet. :-) Am debating whether to go the budget route (Fluance SX-HTB) or take the high-end, high-dollar path (Magnapans with Outlaw processor/amp combo). The Mag speakers are big but I understand they can be mounted to a wall and swivelled into position? That's intriguing.

With either setup I'd need a sub, so where should that go? Would a long (10ft+) cable degrade the sound quality to the sub? I was going to put it in the top left corner beside the TV until I discovered home theater subs aren't magnetically shielded. That struck me as odd.

Don't laugh at the recliners, they were free. ;)

Thanks for any tips! There are so many options out there, it's almost as if I have too much to choose from. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to getting this done. :-)
