The latest version of Apple’s popular AirPods Pro are now available in both a Lightning cable version or a new USB-C version to match Apple’s latest iPhone 15. The cable choice affects the Mag Safe charging case only. The AirPods Pro themselves are identical in both versions.
The AirPods Pro (2nd gen) offer adaptive transparency mode which keeps you aware of what’s going on around you while still allowing you to enjoy your favorite music or podcast. The “adaptive” part means the earbuds automatically adjust for intense noises such as sirens and construction, in real time. When you need to speak with someone nearby, the new “Conversation Awareness” feature automatically lowers the volume of what’s playing, enhances voices in front of you, and reduces background noise.
They new AirPods Pro are optimized for spatial audio and include a dynamic head-tracking feature that keeps the soundstage stable while you move your head around allowing you to more naturally track the sound. Speaking of VR, the AirPods Pro 2 (2nd Gen) have been designed to be the perfect earbuds for Apple’s upcoming Apple Vision Pro AR/VR headset.
Apple says enhancements to their active noise cancellation processing lead to a 2X improvement in noise cancellation. The company’s proprietary H2 chip pushes advanced audio performance beyond previous models, resulting in more immersive sound, crisp, clear treble and deep, rich bass.
The AirPods Pro now come with four different sizes of silicone tips (XS, S, M, L) to fit a wider range of ears, providing all-day comfort and ensuring a tighter acoustic seal. This not only improves noise isolation and bass response, but it also helps keep the AirPods Pro from falling out, even when you’re exercising (or just randomly dancing in public as one does).
The current version of the AirPods Pro lasts for up to 6 hours on a charge (with ANC turned on) and a fully charged case will get you an additional 30 hours of use.
