Hello,
I have a digital cable box, Pioneer DVR, and Pioneer AMP/Reciever, I currently have the DVR setup to record the channel i am currently watching, but the DVR has the capability to record channels imi not currently watching. what is the best way to set it up?

You can only record the channel you're watching if it's a digital channel. You can record analog channels you're not watching.

Your cable box can only tune to one chanel at a time, but if you split the RF antenna cable befor the cable box and allow your set up as is to stay and add a RF antenna cable from the split directly to the DVR you may be able to record non scrambled chanels. Or add a roof antenna to record local stations while watching cable or visa versa.
