i have: pioneer pdp-5080xd tv sky hd box pioneer dcs-363 surround sound
when i watch dvds on the sourround sound it works but when i want to have surround sound on the sky hd box it only comes out of 2 speakers when i have 5. i need help

Most likely you hooked up an RCA stereo signal cable from the cable box to the pioneer reciever. If you hooked up a digital wire from the cable box to the reiever but are still geting only stereo, the problem is that most regular TV programing is only in stereo. HD channels will sometimes have surround sound. To solve this simply go through the different surround sound settings on the reciever until you get a sound from the cable box that you are happy with.
