I have a Pioneer VSX-27TX A/V Receiver. I have been having problems with the sound not coming on for several minutes. This happened several times with different inputs (DVD, stereo, VCR). Each time the sound eventually came on without me touching anything. Now, unfortunately, I am not getting it to come on at all. Everything else works except the sound. The connections appears to be correct (this has worked for at least two years now). Anyone have any advice?

complain to the manufacturer and then get a new one

You might have a short in your receiver causing a overload. Does you receiver every cut off unexpectingly? Also check you connections for frayed or chewed cords.
