the big problem is the HDMI. i have a yamaha 4600 connected to a cablevision 8300hd via HDMI and it passes the signal no problem. with the same connection setup on my other tv the yamaha 2600 will not pass the HDMI signal from the 8300hd. Yamaha says the problem is that the 4600 is not 100% HDMI certified and therefore passes the signal to the TV, on the other hand, since the 2600 is 100% certified i need different firmware on the STB in order for the switching to work.
anyone know anyghing about firmware on the stb's or where to look for upgrade info. or any other ideas would really appreciate it.
