Cable box and DVD recorder setup

I have comcast and a DCT 2244/1661 box. I have a Yamaha home theater reciever. I just got a Panasonic DVD recorder/HD unit.

I don't want to watch TV on the same channel as I am recording on the DVD recorder. The Motorola unit has a Coax output and an RCA three wire output(Audio/video)

Can I split the RCA signal so it goes to the AV reciver and to the DVD recorder. Any other suggestions. Anyone know online where I can find a DCT 2244 manual?

Jim I don't think you can do this since you essentially only have one tuner (cable box). Though your cable box has different outputs, they will essentially only output the one channel that you are watching. Now if you can use your VHS tuner, or if somehow you DVD recorder has a tuner, to pick up some of the cable channels, you can record your DVD off of that tuner, otherwise your only choice may be to go with the DVR units that the cable companies offer to watch one channel while recording others.
