VizionWare Secures Patent Tied to Innovative Digital Interconnect Technology

United States Patent and Trademark Office Grants Patent for “Method and System of Reducing Electromagnetic Interference Emissions”

AUSTIN, Texas — January 8, 2008 — VizionWare, the Texas-based active interconnect company, has announced that it has secured one of several pending patents from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The patent will protect several key technologies used in the design and production of its innovative line of digital interconnects and adapters, specifically VizionWare’s “Method and System of Reducing Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Emissions.”

The patent (US pat. 7305020) granted refers to a system developed by VizionWare for spreading the energy associated with digital signals being transmitted resulting in lower EMI emissions. After being transmitted across a transmission line, the technology allows for the recovery of the original digital signal and supplied to a destination device.

“Having the USPTO recognize this method for reducing EMI emissions only strengthens VizionWare’s commitment in developing unique technologies and applications,” said Ken Egan, founder and chief technical officer for VizionWare. “As we continue to break new ground in HDMI and DVI technologies, providing users with the latest in innovations is our primary goal, and having those advances protected is certainly a major asset.”

VizionWare has several additional patents pending, including the following:
• Skew Management in Cables and Other Interconnects (11/519237)
• Bidirectional Active Signal Management in Cables and Other Interconnects (11/519235)
• Encoding and Deserialization/Serialization for Digital Signals (11/519210)
• Active Signal Management in Cables and Other Interconnects (11/519192)
• Method and Apparatus for Conversion between Quasi Differential Signaling and True Differential Signaling (11/518862)

VizionWare’s revolutionary product line features HDMI/DVI digital interconnects, including the highly acclaimed and award-winning Hi-WirezTM 1650, 3400 and 1650LD Series, which enable a showroom quality audio/video experience in home theaters. The company’s core technology is noise reduction and high-performance interconnect extension. This technology is implemented in chips, which are embedded into many different types of digital interconnect products, such as cables, adapters and signal management products.
