ValueFirst to represent enterprise-only MVNO in Asia-Pacific conference

ValueFirst will represent MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) for enterprises in the Asia-Pacific conference to be held from 12th July 2006 to 14th July 2006 in Singapore. ValueFirst, which is a leading MVNO for data services with over 350 enterprises as its customers, has established operations in Germany, India, Pakistan, Romania and the UK.

Organised by Informa Telecom & Media, MVNOs & Mobile Brands Asia Pacific 2006 conference would examine the emergence of MVNO as an industry in the Asia-Pacific region. The forum will be a confluence of experts from the telecom industry, the consulting domain and the investor community and would focus on different business models and the gamut of services that can be offered by the MVNOs.

ValueFirst is one of its kind MVNO with a clear focus on the mobile data needs of enterprises. Mr. Vijay Shukla, Country Head, ValueFirst, has been invited to the said conference as a mobile expert to speak on the business case for ValueFirst’s SMS-only MVNO offering to enterprises. The unique business model of ValueFirst creates significant value for enterprises due to an extremely low TCO (Total cost of ownership) of its solution and yet makes the model attractive because of high customer stickiness and recurring revenue stream. The offerings of ValueFirst are targeted and it has got a bouquet of products to cater to the specific requirements of the SOHOs, SMEs and enterprises.

Since the MVNOs are yet to receive the due recognition as an industry, the telecom regulators in various countries have still not modified the regulations to create a level playing field for the MVNOs vis-a-vis the mobile operators. For example, in a few countries, mobile operators hesitate to provide SS7 linkage to MVNOs due to lack of clear regulatory mechanism to ensure mobile operators providing SS7 link to the MVNOs.

The forum is likely to provide voice to MVNOs by highlighting the unique advantages offered by them over mobile operators and expedite the perceptible need to review the telecom regulations in light of the emergence of MVNOs.
