Universal Remote Control Unveils Complete Control Partner Program

CCPP will assure URC dealers that a wide variety of third-party consumer electronics products will work fully and seamlessly with URC controllers.

Harrison, NY — June 17, 2008 — Universal Remote Control, Inc. (URC), the pioneer in control technology, unveiled its Complete Control Partner Program (CCPP) today. The program kicks off with 18 influential charter members.

URC believes in an open-platform approach that allows partner manufacturers’ products to perform to their native specifications as plug-and-play devices in a URC-controlled system. URC is implementing CCPP to ensure seamless integration and full functionality of partner manufacturers’ products in a custom URC automation solution.

Through CCPP, URC dealers will have an even easier time setting up home entertainment and automation systems that provide activity-based control solutions (“Watch a DVD,” for example) that involve simultaneous control of multiple and diverse products.

The CCPP membership will comprise a powerful coalition of manufacturers from many diverse markets. Charter partners in the program are Anchor Bay Technologies, AudioControl, Audio Design Associates (ADA), Classe Audio, CentraLite Systems, Denon, Hitachi, Integra, Key Digital, Lutron, Marantz, NuVision, Onkyo, Sharp, Sony, Sooloos, Sunfire and VUDU, with more on the way. CCPP members fully reveal their codes and control applications to URC, and URC makes itself available to members for advice, direction, feedback and testing in the interest of providing complete, confirmed control solutions upon which custom installers and integrators can rely.

CCPP products will be guaranteed to work with all current and future URC control devices. Manufacturers can promote their participation in the program by using the CCPP logo in their marketing materials.

“CCCP will provide URC dealers with reliable, seamless integration and interoperability across a wide variety of the industry’s finest consumer electronics products,” said Mitchell Klein, URC’s director of research and market development, and coordinator of the CCPP campaign. “Through CCPP, we will assure dealers that products from their preferred vendors will perform as promised, consistently and in a predictable manner. For participating manufacturers, CCPP furnishes an opportunity to further demonstrate their commitment to the custom installation and integration channel.”

Manufacturers who are interested in more information or membership applications are encouraged to contact URC’s Mitchell Klein at (617) 243-0088 or MKlein@UniversalRemote.com.
