Ultimea Announces Poseidon E40 Portable Projector

Now on sale for $359, Ultimea’s Poseidon E40 smart projector brings Netflix movie watching to the backyard. Screen not included.

ULTIMEA Poseidon E40 Portable Projector Front and Back

Ultimea is an emerging brand in both the video projector and soundbar markets; we have previously reported on their Apollo S40 soundbar and Thor T60 Laser TV.

The latest entry in their expanding product offerings is the Poseidon E40 portable smart projector which offers some very practical features for those looking for a reasonably-priced first projector or users who already have a high-end main system, but would like something compact and affordable for a second room or the backyard. Ultimea claims that the Poseiden E40 can project images up to 150 inches

Poseidon E40 Features

Light Output: The most important feature of a video projector is the ability to produce enough light to project a viewable image on the screen. Although many projectors can output more light than the E40, considering its compact size and price point, this projector can output more light than many portable projectors in its price point with 1,000 ANSI Lumens

The Poseidon E40 utilizes LCD chips supported by an LED light source.

USPAA Technology: The ULTIMEA Poseidon E40 offers intelligent features that facilitate easy setup, simply press a button to achieve automatic 6D keystone correction, autofocus, and intelligent obstacle avoidance. With additional ToF+CMOS technology, the projector supports precise calibration, rapid focusing, and intelligent obstacle detection for the projection screen. The intelligent screen alignment feature adjusts the projector’s position.

Full HD and HDR: The ULTIMEA Poseidon E40 features native 1080p (Full HD) resolution. This supports clarity and detail shine for an immersive viewing experience. HDR is also supported (HDR10+ and HLG). This combination supports better color accuracy, contrast, and rendering of subtle details in both dark and light scenes,

Tech Note: The E40 will accept a 4K video resolution input, but will scale the image to 1080p for projected image display.

Tech Note: Although HDR is supported, because the E40 is not as bright as most TVs that have HDR compatibility, the HDR effect will be less pronounced.

Smart Features:  To enjoy your projector you need to be able to access the content that you like. The E40 fills the bill with both physical and wireless connectivity.  In addition to AV and HDMI sources, the E40 has built-in WiFi and streaming capability with the Android TV OS 11 with over 1000 streaming apps including Netflix Certification

Audio: Most projectors don’t have built-in audio, and for those that do, it is recommended that the user purchase a soundbar or connect to a home theater audio system for the best listening results.  However, for small rooms or portable setups, the E40 does incorporate Dolby Audio in combination with a 2 x10-watt speaker system.

Portability: Weighing just 3.15kg, you can use the Poseidon E40 at home or on the go. It is small enough to into a backpack or luggage.
