Tsunami Introduces Marine Line

HOLLY HILL, FLA., JANUARY 9, 2007: Tsunami introduces a new product line designed specifically for marine audio systems. Tsunami Marine brings Tsunami’s premium quality to boats and personal watercraft with materials and construction methods that stand up to the demanding marine environment to deliver exceptional performance.

Tsunami Marine consists of distribution blocks, RCA audio cables and speaker grilles. Housings are made of tough white ABS plastic for high resistance to UV rays, temperature variations, high-moisture environments and vehicle vibrations.

The seven distribution blocks in the line feature compression fittings for the best contact — essential to maintain performance in the high-vibration, high-moisture environment of a marine vehicle. Hard nickel-plated solid brass blocks provide superior resistance to corrosion.

“The vibration in a boat or personal watercraft is worse than in a car,” said John Williams, Tsunami Product Manager. “Compression fittings represent the best method devised for electrical power connections.”

Tsunami Marine RCA cables are available in seven popular lengths and two Y adapters. Cables have molded strain reliefs for extra resistance to vibration, wear and tear. In addition to being highly moisture-resistant, they’re triple-shielded to prevent RF interference from marine electronics.

Speaker grilles of white ABS can be painted to blend with vehicle interiors, and are available in 12″, 10″, 6.5″ and 5.25″.

“Because of the way that cables are run on boats, typically over bulkheads, they’re not supported very well,” said Williams. “Tsunami Marine cables are built to be very rugged to handle that kind of installation.”

Williams observed that consumer demand for high-quality audio systems in marine vehicles is being spurred by the popularity of in-car entertainment systems and home theaters.

“Consumers are now accustomed to having quality sound in their car and home. When they buy a boat or personal watercraft, they’re not willing to settle for poor sound reproduction. Tsunami Marine delivers the optimal performance level from audio equipment in marine vehicles with the quality and reliability that people expect from the Tsunami brand.”

Based in Holly Hill, FL, with offices in Long Beach, CA, Metra Electronics (www.metraonline.com) is a leader in the auto sound industry as parent company of such consumer and professional installation brands as Axxess, Install Bay/Fishman, Raptor, Silencer and Tsunami, as well as the Ethereal brand of home audio/video interconnects.
