Chicago, IL (October 16, 2007)–Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has introduced the B020-008-17-IP, its newest 8-Port NetDirector Console KVM Switch featuring on-board IP remote access, giving users the ability to access and manage server components remotely via the Internet.

The B020-008-17-IP 8-Port IP Console KVM Switch provides advanced security features, such as password protection and advanced encryption technologies, including 1024 bit RSA, 256 bit AES, 56 bit DES and 128 bit SSL. A 17″ LCD display offers a larger viewing area and greater ease in managing multiple open windows and scrolling through long file lists. The console combines the 17″ LCD video-quality monitor (1280 x 1024), a full-feature keyboard with a numeric keypad, a touch pad and 8-port KVM Switch in only 1U of rack space. The B020-008-17-IP is mounted in an easy-glide drawer that stores neatly in the rack and pulls out when needed. Installation is quick and easy and requires no special software. Hot-pluggable operation allows the addition or removal of PCs or servers without the need to power down the unit. A built-in firmware port allows upgrades from the administrator’s computer to the KVM Switch.
