Tivoli Audio Unveils Model One Digital Generation 3 Tabletop Radio With Support for Spotify Connect

Tivoli’s 3rd generation tabletop radio blends real wood design with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, and hi-res sound for $349.

Tivoli Audio Model One Generation 3 Tabletop Radio in Walnut and Gold

Tivoli Audio isn’t just leaning on nostalgia anymore—it’s doubling down on relevance. The new Model One Digital Generation 3 takes the company’s signature mix of real wood cabinetry and aluminum hardware and bolts on modern essentials: AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, FM/DAB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi streaming that actually works without a headache.

Think of it as a radio that refuses to die quietly—it adapts, updates itself via firmware, and still gives you the tactile pleasure of a dial instead of a soulless touchscreen.

Coming off our recent positive experience with the Tivoli SongBook MAX and the still-classic Model One BT (our review drops Thursday), it’s clear Tivoli isn’t just dabbling—they’re quietly building one of the smartest retro-modern ecosystems on the market.

Their products hit that sweet spot of affordable, great-sounding, and thoughtfully designed—with just enough personality thanks to color finishes and collaborations that don’t feel like cheap gimmicks.

They’re perfect for the places where a big-box wireless speaker feels oversized or out of place: the kitchen counter, a nightstand, the bathroom, the spare bedroom at the cottage, even the garage or deck when you want Sunday pre-game on without dragging out a full system (yes, especially when the Bills are about to humble the Jets).

People also like that Tivoli products still feel like objects, not disposable tech—you turn a knob, twist a dial, push a button. It’s why my SongBook MAX on the kitchen counter in Florida gets more play than some of my “serious” rigs. The new Model One Digital Generation 3 fits right into that ethos—streamlined, tactile, and smart enough for modern life, even if DAB is basically a ghost in North America.

How to Set Up and Stream with Tivoli Audio Model One Digital Gen 3: AirPlay 2, Google Cast, TIDAL Connect, and Spotify Connect

Getting the Model One Digital Generation 3 onto Wi-Fi isn’t hard, but you need to know the rules. Tivoli makes you grab the free Tivoli Audio Setup app from the App Store or Google Play. For Android users, it’s mandatory—no app, no Wi-Fi. Apple users get it a little easier, but you’ll still need the app if you want Google Cast active.

Here’s the process, stripped of the usual fluff:

  1. Install the Tivoli Audio Setup App. Make sure your phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network you plan to use.
  2. Power on the speaker. Tap the Power/Source/Volume knob to turn it on, and switch sources until you see “Wi-Fi” on the display. If it doesn’t drop into setup mode, press the Wi-Fi button on the back.
  3. Use the app to connect. Open the Tivoli app, tap +Add, and follow the prompts. Once connected, the display will confirm.
  4. Activate Google Cast. After Wi-Fi is locked in, the app will ask if you want to enable Cast. Say yes, unless you plan to ignore Google Home entirely. Your speaker will then show up under “Local Devices” in the Google Home app.
  5. For iOS and AirPlay 2: Head to Wi-Fi Settings → Set Up New AirPlay Speaker → choose Tivoli Audio M1D3_XXXXXX. Rename it (trust me, you’ll thank yourself later) and set a password if you want. Done. Now it shows up in Control Center → AirPlay menu.

Once that’s sorted, streaming is seamless. Spotify ConnectTIDAL Connect, and any Google Cast-enabled app just need you to pick the Model One Digital from the device list. With AirPlay 2, pull up Control Center, hold the audio card, tap AirPlay, and fire away.

No drama, no learning curve—just a clean setup, a retro dial to keep you grounded, and all the modern streaming hooks built in.
