New Cinema Ribbon surround expands Award-Winning family to offer complete high performance home theater systems
CES Las Vegas, NV, January 7, 2008 — Sunfire Corp., a specialist in the design, manufacture and marketing of luxury audio/video products for the custom installation and specialty retail markets, unveiled an exciting new addition to their award-winning Cinema Ribbon family of high-performance XT Series line. The CRM-2BIP ($1750 pair MSRP), on-wall bi-pole speaker is specially engineered as the perfect complement to Sunfire’s award–winning loudspeakers.
The CRM-2BIP features the same advanced ribbon technology as other Cinema Ribbon models, combining lifelike detail, wide dispersion and high power handling, ideal characteristics for a surround sound application. Yet its stylish, low-profile cabinet, measuring a mere 3 5/8″, is one of the slimmest and most unobtrusive on the market.
The dual side-firing ribbon configuration, an industry first, creates wide dispersion for a huge rear sound stage. Complementing the ribbon driver is a compact 4.5″ High Back-emf woofer which allows for a small form factor with very high output. Like other Sunfire Cinema Ribbon models, the CRM-2BIP handles an amazing 400 watts of power, necessary for today’s demanding movie soundtracks and high-powered multi-channel amplifiers.
For further customization, the unit features Intelligent Tweeter Shaping. This ribbon contour level adjustment tailors the speaker’s high frequencies to the listener’s tastes and/or the acoustics of the room.
For ease of installation, the speaker features keyhole mounting with gold-five-way binding posts for quick, secure installation.

The first Cinema Ribbon loudspeaker was conceived and designed based on the extensive psychoacoustic research conducted by Sunfire founder and industry legend Bob Carver. The award winning CRM-2 Duo is able to create a soundstage larger than speakers many times its size through use of dual side-firing High Back-emf woofers, and a ribbon driver. The result is amazing detail and a huge image with controlled dispersion to eliminate unwanted reflections off the ceiling and floor. The CRM-2BIP is Sunfire’s latest creation and is purpose-built as a surround mate to the entire CR speaker line.
The Sunfire CRM-2BIP, offered standard in a piano-like, high gloss black finish, will be shipping in April 2008.
