Ojai, CA–April 2, 2006–
Two of the strongest Master teams in the nation, Sonance/Specialized and Labor Power, faced off at the 3rd annual Garrett Lemire Memorial Criterium in the 45+ Masters Race. Thurlow Rogers led all racers out-sprinting Roger Worthington of Labor to win his 2nd 45+ race in 2 days. Steve Strickler took 3rd place followed closely by Keith Ketterer in 5th place. Mike Mueller finished 10th over all to round out the top places by Sonance/Specialized.
In the 35+ Masters Race, Dan Vogt continued his top placing in this category finishing a strong 2nd place in a very strong field of riders. With this win Dan moved into 3rd place in the SoCal Cup for 35+ riders. He beat the top 35+ SoCal Cup rider Richard Meeker who placed 3rd in this race.
The Garrett Lemire Memorial Criterium is on the National Racing Calendar (NRC) and is held in Ojai in memory of Garrett Lemire who was killed on March 15th, 2003 while racing at the Tucson Bike Classic.
