Social Butterfly OtterBox Brings Interactive Company Culture to Customers

Fort Collins, COLO. — With a new Facebook fan page and redesign of the company blog and Planet OtterBox site, OtterBox has become a true social butterfly.

“Social media outlets have changed the concept of business,” said Andrew Bumpas, Web Designer at OtterBox. “By allowing customers to really engage and interact, platforms like Facebook and the blog reflect the personality and charm of OtterBox, making the company more relatable to customers. It’s important for our customer to feel connected to the company and social media and networking really allow for that.”

By becoming a fan of OtterBox on Facebook, you can interact with employees, read and write product reviews, chat with other customers, learn about new products, receive exclusive discount codes and more. View the OtterBox page on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/OtterBox/54145863002.

“Facebook is the top social networking site used by millions of people around the world. It is a great outlet for us to interact with our customers and allow them to get a feel for OtterBox culture,” said Mike Soderholm, OtterBox Director of Marketing. “We hope to build our presence in these online communities and view Facebook as an opportunity to engage current and potential customers in a way that is convenient and appealing for them; it also allows us to communicate through new channels.”

The goal of the blog and Planet OtterBox redesign was to capture the fun, outgoing personality of the company. “I wanted to give visitors to the sites an outdoor, adventure feel that would inspire people to interact online and also give them a call to action, especially with Planet OtterBox,” Bumpas said.

Customers can submit photos and stories from travels, events and adventures around the world on Planet OtterBox for a chance to win a $100 check or $150 OtterBox shopping spree every month. Yearly winners can win $1000 for top entries.

“We’re a fun company and we want people to engage and interact with us as much as possible,” Bumpas said.

Customers can interact with OtterBox by following company updates and announcements on Twitter. With the ability to reach thousands of people, including existing and potential customers as well as media contacts, Twitter has become a valuable tool for OtterBox. “We use Twitter to communicate anything from a company Oreo eating contest to new product releases. Tweets are short and sweet which makes it easy to connect with people,” Soderholm said.
