Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones Win Robb Report Award

Sennheiser is pleased to announce their newest premium headphone, the HD 800 has received a “Best of the Best” Award from Robb Report magazine in the Home Audio category.

Every June, Robb Report publishes its annual “Best of the Best” special issue, which represents the culmination of an entire year’s search for excellence. This special issue offers readers a selection of new products and services that illustrate the finest goods that the luxury world has to offer.

“The HD800 produces sound so crisp that all the intricate recording nuances become readily audible: the soft release of a flautist’s breath, the scratch of a bow along a violin string. Background noise never sounded so good,” said Bailey S. Barnard, assistant editor for Robb Report.

The HD 800 sets new standards with its innovative transducer technology. Measuring 56 mm, the transducer in the HD 800 is the largest that can currently be found in a dynamic headphone. In simple terms: the more transducer surface area that vibrates, the purer the headphone sounds at low frequencies.

The exterior design of the HD 800 perfectly reflects its outstanding sound quality: a puristic design language and a black/silver finish give the headphones a look of exclusive elegance, turning them into a true designer object. And all this is ‘Made in Germany’: the HD 800 was developed and designed at Sennheiser’s corporate headquarters in Wedemark, Germany. The new headphones will be manufactured there as well — with the usual meticulous attention to detail, build and quality.
