SANYO Announces Two Portable Widescreen 16:9 Projectors During CEDIA EXPO 07

– Ultra-portable PLC-WXU10 and PLC-WXU30 projectors offer full widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio

– New mobile projectors provide quick and easy high definition screenings from any location

– PLC-WXU30 offers unique wired and wireless networking capabilities for controlling and monitoring functions remotely via a web browser

CEDIA EXPO — DENVER, CO — Sept. 5, 2007 — SANYO, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of projectors introduces the mobile PLC-WXU10 and PLC-WXU30 projectors during CEDIA EXPO this week in Denver, CO.

Offering a full 1280 x 800 resolution, the PLC-WXU10 and PLC-WXU30 make it possible to project high-quality HD images from virtually any location. At 2000 and 3700 lumens, respectively, these extremely bright, yet compact, projectors are equally comfortable entertaining the whole family with exquisite HD images from cable/satellite or DVD sources as they are delivering a PC-based business presentation to a select audience in the work place or projecting larger-than life video from today’s best game consoles.

“Don’t let the unique portability of the PLC-WXU10 and PLC-WXU30 fool you. They are completely capable of matching the resolution and aspect ratio of the most popular TV shows and DVD movies available in HD, “says Mark Holt, the Vice President and General Manager for SANYO’s Presentation Technologies Division. “These two projectors fill a niche in the home entertainment market that up to now has been completely vacant. We believe in this mobile age of downloadable music and movies, a lightweight go-anywhere projector is going to be a big hit with forward-looking consumers.”

A flexible zoom lens allows for projecting in both short and long distances, from 3-feet to 25-feet to be exact. Keystone Correction adjusts for 16 degrees up or down for fast and easy set up.

The PLC-WXU30 is equipped with SANYO’s exclusive PJ Network Interface for wired and wireless networking, a common feature among SANYO’s extensive line of commercial projectors. Networking allows the monitoring of projector functions and operation from a long distance via a web browser. Emails can be sent automatically to report operating status. The wireless interface is compatible with IEEE802.11b/g standards, offering transfer speeds up to 54Mbps and providing WEP 64 /128-bit security.

The units are designed to turn on automatically when the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlet and with the Easy-Off function it’s possible to remove the power cord without waiting for the machine to cool down — convenient for quickly clearing away a temporary set-up. As both projectors are so small and light, a pin code lock is provided to prevent theft. When activated a loud audio alarm goes off to scare away would be thieves.
