Runco International Gearing Up for Rocky Mountain Electronics Expo 2005

UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA — May 17, 2005 — Runco International is bringing the future of home theater video to Denver, Colorado at the Rocky Mountain Expo 2005. The company will have on display the latest additions to its world-renowned line of front projectors, plasma monitors, and now LCD panels. New products will be demonstrated and attendees will be able to take in-depth training courses covering their features and capabilities. The big buzz among home theater installers has been getting a look at Runco’s CineWide with AutoScope, an exclusive feature that lets the company’s projectors show movies in the CinemaScope 2.35:1 aspect ratio with never-before-seen brightness and clarity. This new technology and a range of Runco products will be live at the Rocky Mountain Expo 2005, which is scheduled for June 8th and 9th at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Denver.

“2005 is a landmark year for Runco engineering. Our newest displays give custom home theater designers the ability to create a home cinema experience with true silver screen authenticity,” said Bob Hana, president of Runco International. “At the Rocky Mountain Expo, Runco can put its breakthrough technologies in front of Western-territory installers, and give them a firsthand look at the quality that can be achieved with our displays. At Runco, we take pride in our goal of being each dealer’s strongest business partner, and it’s exciting for us when we get to unveil the next wave of products they’ll be sharing with their customers.”

Runco International will host on-going demonstrations as well as specialized training seminars on a number of its product families. CineWide with AutoScope will be shown as part of the Video Xtreme VX-2c Projection System, which includes the all-digital DHD Controller & Processor. Also present from the supercharged Video Xtreme Projector Portfolio will be the new VX-60d and VX-50d, which generate bright, high-definition pictures using 3-chip DLP light engines and powerful Xenon lamps.

One of Runco’s most exciting new product families, the Crystal Series LCD flat panels will be on display. The new collection features three models, with screen sizes of 26, 32, and 40 inches, and is designed specifically for custom home theater installers. Each display’s elegant black exterior makes it a sophisticated complement to any theater’s decor, while discrete IR and RS-232 control allow total compatibility with high-end automation systems. Runco also worked with the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) to specially develop “day” and “night” calibration presets that ensure an impressive picture in varied levels of ambient light. In addition, all three monitors include a high-quality stereo speaker system–a Runco-first.

The Reflection Series projector portfolio will be also represented, courtesy of the new CL-410M, which avails viewers DLP precision in the most affordable Runco projector yet. As a statement of Runco’s pioneering approach to versatility in home entertainment, the PlasmaWall PL-50XA plasma monitor will make an appearance. This flat-panel display not only gives a cutting-edge look to high-definition home theater, its high-altitude compliancy allows operation at previously impossible heights–even over 9,000 feet above sea level.

The Rocky Mountain Expo is organized and hosted by Runco International representative firm, Momentum Group. We designed the Rocky Mountain Expo as a way for manufacturers and custom A/V dealers to coordinate shared success, and this year’s show is going to be one of our strongest yet.”
