RTI Releases TheaterTouch Designer 2.0 Software

CHANHASSEN, MINN. — August 9, 2004 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the leader in innovative home control solutions, announced today the release of its latest version of the company’s TheaterTouch Designer programming software. The software upgrade supports the new TheaterTouch T1 and T2+ universal system controllers, and the RP-6 remote control processor. It also provides support for capturing IR codes with the new IR-PRO Professional Infrared Capture System. TheaterTouch Designer 2.0 software is available now for downloading by RTI dealers at www.rticorp.com/dealers.

RTI has recently introduced the new version of the company’s flagship remote control. The TheaterTouch T2+ features improved ergonomics and additional hard buttons for transport function control. The new T2+ also offers 50% more memory, a lithium polymer battery, and a convenient new docking station. A button only version of the T2+ touchscreen remote control, TheaterTouch T1 was also introduced. It offers the same programming features as the T2+ at a price point that will fit comfortably within every budget. The T1 offers the perfect assortment of buttons to control the functions of today’s home theaters. The T1 also has eight source and four function buttons that can be customized with supplied keycaps.

The RP-6 Remote Control Processor offering custom installers superior performance for home theater control also made its debut. The RP-6 is designed to store all of the commands for system control within its memory. The commands can then be triggered with IR or RF by one of the RTI Universal System Controllers. The RP-6 also offers IR pass-through, three programmable relays and six addressable multi-purpose I/O ports. The multi-purpose I/O ports can be used to route outgoing IR signals or for power sensing and RS-232 control with separate control accessories available from RTI.

TheaterTouch Designer 2.0 software also provides support for capturing IR codes with the new IR-PRO Professional Infrared Capture System. The IR-PRO embodies all of the knowledge that RTI has accumulated over the past decade about IR codes, and it can reliably capture almost any infrared code regardless of code format, frequency, output strength, battery condition, alignment position, location of infrared emitter.
