RTI Introduces Revolutionary M2 Universal System Controller

Extraordinarily flexible hand-held controller will be unveiled at the CEDIA Expo 2007

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN–July 5, 2007–Remote Technologies Inc, the leading control systems manufacturer, announced today the release of the new M2 Universal System Controller. Brilliantly designed, the M2 offers the convenience of eight programmable LCD “soft” buttons coupled with the ideal selection of commonly used keypad buttons and can control an unlimited number of home theater components. Setting new standards for sophistication, ease-of-use and flexibility in its very affordable price range, the M2 Universal System Controller is right for any home theater application.

The M2’s high contrast display can be customized with any combination of text and graphics desired, providing the end-user with a simple and flexible interface for operating today’s sophisticated, increasingly complex media systems. Available RTI accessory devices make it capable of radio frequency transmission for transmission of commands through walls or cabinet doors, sensing of power status of controlled devises for error-free operation, and RS-232 communications for advanced control. Sleek, perfectly balanced and ergonomically designed, the affordable M2 is also infinitely flexible and expandable.

“Adding to RTI’s already extensive line of control system solutions, the M2 gives custom installers an affordable and flexible option for their clients — without sacrificing the ease of use and unsurpassed control capability for which RTI is so widely known” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “With an expandable interface, the M2 Universal System Controller allows for infinite programming possibilities and its ergonomic design is comfortable to use for everyone in the family.”

The M2 provides complete control over any home theater system, replacing all other remotes. It features a bright, high-contrast LCD that can be programmed to display custom buttons and text. In addition to the backlit display, there are 33 assignable/programmable “hard” buttons that allow easy access to frequently used functions. All programming is easy and convenient thanks to RTI’s proprietary, award-winning TheaterTouch Designer software.
Other features include an automatic tilt-switch which turns on the back light when the M2 is picked up, unlimited-step programmable macro command capability, non-volatile Flash memory which retains system configuration and programming even if batteries are dead, and field upgradeable firmware, conveniently ensuring continued, state-of the art performance.

No other hand-held home theater system controller available offers as much for as little as RTI’s revolutionary M2 Universal System Controller.
