RTI Opens Doors to Advanced Control University

Home Control Developer Offering Dealers Product Training & Incentives Program

EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — September 19, 2005 — Remote Technologies Inc is giving its dealers another advantage to using its industry-standard home control products. The manufacturer of universal controllers and accessories announced the inauguration of the Advanced Control University at CEDIA EXPO 2005 in Indianapolis . This continuing education initiative combines all of RTI’s training efforts into one program, giving participants a full roster of courses to advance their expertise in designing home control systems. In addition to in-depth training, RTI is offering “Control Bucks” to dealers who complete courses, which can be redeemed for products and other merchandise. The ACU program is part of RTI’s effort to give custom installers the edge in delivering powerful and easy-to-use whole-house control systems.

“The Advanced Control University is the custom installer’s top option for learning the most up-to-date methods for providing high-value home control solutions,” said Matthew Lust, National Product Trainer for RTI. “We’ve used feedback from our dealers to build the catalog of ACU courses to include topics that will add the most to each dealer’s business. Any dealer who enrolls in the ACU is going to gain knowledge that will help add new projects and sustainable profits to their business.”

Advanced Control University courses are offered in a variety of channels. On-site classes are held at AVAD distribution centers across the country; phone/web seminars are scheduled for those who are unable to attend classes in person; and video tutorials (available for download at RTI’s dealer-exclusive web interface) give installers an interactive reference for course material. In addition, an extensive TheaterTouch programming manual will be made available for download from the RTI dealer web site. Individual classes will include how to use the TheaterTouch Designer remote programming software to customize each model of RTI remote, macro command programming, managing IR codes, and more. With the ACU, RTI aims to provide its dealers with the industry’s strongest education program, specifically addressing the most prominent challenges facing custom installers designing home control systems.
