Roksan Expands Caspian Series 4G with New Streaming Preamplifier and Power Amplifier

Can Roksan’s $4,500 Caspian 4G Streaming Preamp and $3,750 Power Amp compete with NAD and Naim in this price class?

Roksan Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier (Top) and Power Amplifier (Bottom)

Following the late-2024 launch of the Caspian 4G Integrated and Streaming AmplifiersRoksan is wasting no time in 2026 by expanding the range with the Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Power Amplifier. The logic is classic hi-fi and refreshingly unglamorous: separate the low-level signal work from the high-current muscle to reduce noise, interference, and stress on the circuitry. Roksan isn’t walking back the integrated or streaming amps—they remain smart, space-efficient solutions—but the new separates are aimed at listeners who want that last layer of control and polish without turning the rack into a science experiment.

Add the fact that Roksan quietly marked its 40th anniversary in 2025, and the message is hard to miss: this isn’t a nostalgia play or a badge-polishing exercise. It’s Roksan planting a flag in a brutally competitive segment dominated by Naim, Cambridge Audio, and NAD—and making it clear they didn’t come to 2026 to reminisce. They came to take shelf space.

Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier

The Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier is the nerve center of the system—the part that actually thinks. It handles all input selection and switching, digital processing and DAC duties, built-in streaming, and then hands off a clean, fully sorted signal to an external power amplifier.

In other words, this is where the serious work happens before the watts get involved. Roksan keeps the brains and the brawn in separate rooms here, which is the whole point: fewer compromises, less electrical cross-talk, and a calmer, more controlled signal before it ever sees a speaker.

Rapture DAC Technology

The Caspian Series 4G Streaming Preamplifier uses Roksan’s Rapture DAC design, based on a differential current-conveyor topology rather than a conventional op-amp output stage. This approach offers higher gain-bandwidth performance, which is beneficial for handling high-resolution digital signals with greater stability and accuracy. By avoiding reliance on standard op-amp ICs, the design focuses on consistent signal transfer and precise digital-to-analog conversion without adding unnecessary complexity.

Analog Pre-Amplifier and Phono Stage

The Caspian Series 4G Streaming Preamplifier includes a fully analog preamp section designed to preserve signal integrity across connected sources. Its balanced architecture helps reduce noise, while a ground-switching input design minimizes cross-talk between components. This approach builds on circuit concepts previously used in Roksan’s Attessa series. The preamp also includes a phono input compatible with both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges.

In addition to its analog capabilities, the Caspian 4G Streaming Preamp features HDMI-ARC/eARC, allowing straightforward connection to a compatible TV or projector for improved audio performance with television, movie, and gaming content.

BluOS Streaming Platform

The Caspian 4G Streaming Preamp integrates the BluOS multi-room streaming platform, providing access to networked and online music playback within a single control environment. BluOS supports high-resolution streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz and can operate across multiple zones within a BluOS-enabled system. The platform allows browsing and playback of locally stored music libraries alongside supported streaming services and internet radio.

In addition, the Caspian 4G Streaming Preamp is compatible with Roon, allowing it to function as a Roon-ready endpoint for users who prefer Roon’s library management and playback ecosystem.

Volume Control

Rather than choosing sides in the digital-versus-analog volume control debate, Roksan uses a hybrid approach in the Caspian Series 4G. By combining elements of both methods, the design allows for fine volume adjustment while maintaining consistent signal handling across the range. The result is precise, repeatable level control without relying solely on either a fully digital or fully analog implementation.

Caspian 4G Power Amplifier

roksan-caspian-4g-power-amplifier-silver-front

The Roksan Caspian 4G Streaming Preamp handles source connectivity, switching, and digital-to-analog conversion, but it does not include onboard amplification. To drive loudspeakers, a dedicated power amplifier is required—and that role is filled by the new Caspian 4G Power Amplifier. Designed to partner directly with the Streaming Preamp, the Caspian 4G Power Amplifier is built to provide the necessary output and control, whether configured for conventional stereo operation or used as a mono-block in higher-power systems.

The Caspian Series 4G Power Amplifier is based on Roksan’s Class A/B Euphoria amplifier architecture, which is designed around more than just achieving low harmonic distortion or an ultra-quiet noise floor. In the Series 4G implementation, the focus extends to controlling intermodulation distortion and maintaining consistent harmonic and intermodulation behavior across varying frequencies and speaker loads. The goal is stable, predictable performance under real-world operating conditions.

In terms of output, the Caspian Series 4G Power Amplifier delivers 105 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 200 watts per channel into 4 ohms in stereo operation. It can also be configured in bridged mono mode, where it is rated at 420 watts into 8 ohms and 630 watts into 4 ohms. Connectivity includes two sets of RCA inputs and one set of balanced XLR inputs, along with dual speaker terminals for straightforward connection to a preamplifier and loudspeakers.

MaestroUnite App

Additional setup, control, and feature management for both the Caspian 4G Streaming Preamp and Power Amplifier is handled through the MaestroUnite app. The app provides access to system configuration options including input setup, headphone sensitivity, analog input gain, balance adjustment, low-power standby behavior, and general audio preferences.

It also supports over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates, allowing features and performance refinements to be deployed without hardware changes. MaestroUnite is integrated within the broader Monitor Audio Group ecosystem, enabling coordinated control across compatible products.

Caspian 4G Remote Control

The Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Power Amplifier include a supplied Roksan remote control for access to core system functions. The remote is designed to handle basic operation of Caspian 4G components without relying on an app for everyday use. Its aluminum extruded construction is shaped for comfortable handling, with clearly labeled and logically arranged buttons for straightforward operation.

The Bottom Line

The Caspian 4G Streaming Pre-Amplifier and Power Amplifier are aimed squarely at listeners who prefer proper separates and are willing to pay for a more modular, system-first approach. The key technologies—BluOS streaming, Roksan’s Rapture DAC architecture, a hybrid volume control, and the Class A/B Euphoria power stage with stereo or mono-block flexibility position the Caspian 4G stack as a technically serious alternative to all-in-one amplifiers. This is not about chasing minimum box count; it’s about control, upgrade paths, and system matching.

Pricing is unapologetic. At $4,500 for the Streaming Pre-Amp and $3,750 for the Power Amp, the Caspian 4G separates cost more than value-driven options like Emotiva’s Differential Reference Design Stack, but they land closer to established players from NAD and still undercut comparable systems from Naim’s Classic 300 Series. For buyers already shopping in this tier—and comparing BluOS-based ecosystems, build quality, and long-term platform support, Roksan’s Caspian 4G separates make a credible case. They’re not trying to win on price; they’re betting that refinement, flexibility, and engineering consistency will be enough to keep audiophiles paying attention.
