ReQuest Media Servers to Incorporate Tripp Lite Power Solutions

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago, IL (August 28, 2006)–Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the preferred provider of backup power and power conditioning solutions by ReQuest, a leader in the design and manufacture of digital audio/video management solutions. ReQuest’s line of media servers and iQ systems will include integrated drivers enabling them to communicate with Tripp Lite’s Internet-enabled professional-grade A/V power protection products.

“Incorporating power protection into our products adds value for both installation professionals and end users,” said ReQuest founder Steven Vasquez. “Power problems such as blackouts, brownouts, spikes and surges can damage hardware, erase equipment settings and corrupt or destroy irreplaceable files. When you consider the fact that our S.Series audio servers, for example, can store up to 8,000 CDs worth of music, the importance of power protection becomes obvious. An amazing feature of the Tripp Lite power products with the added SMNP Webcard is their ability to work with our ARQLink Internet service. This gives installers the ability to remotely check power conditions and even reset the power to ReQuest or other products, with no need for a service call. Tripp Lite provides our customers with peace of mind in the form of a state-of-the-art, cost-effective power protection solution.”

“We’re excited about this partnership with ReQuest,” added Dennis Mariasis, Tripp Lite A/V Product Manager. “More and more, industry professionals recognize the importance of an integrated power protection solution for audio/video installations. With the inclusion of Tripp Lite drivers, ReQuest media servers will have that integrated capability built in. This provides installers with a valuable add-on-sales opportunity, and end users with a higher level of protection for their audio/video investment.”

Tripp Lite’s professional-grade A/V power protection line includes three power conditioning centers, among them the award-winning HT500PC, plus seven 1U, 2U and 3U UPS systems. For more information on Tripp Lite’s A/V Power Protection line, go to:
