ReQuest Audio Servers Offer DRM-free Tracks From MusicGiants

MusicGiants and ReQuest To Deliver Premium Collections of High-Definition, DRM-free Music on Professional-quality Audio Servers

ReQuest, a leader in music-server and whole-house audio innovation, and MusicGiants, the leader in high-definition entertainment, have partnered to deliver audiophile quality music collections. Consumers can now get ReQuest’s signature music servers pre-loaded with a variety of music packages encoded in high fidelity lossless format without digital rights management (DRM).

The HD collections are hand-selected by a MusicGiants’ Concierge and are available at a Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond level. These initial packages emphasize jazz and classical and include top artists such as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Johannes Brahms and Felix Mendelssohn. The collections are pre-loaded and perfectly groomed so end-users can quickly find and listen to their favorite artists or composer. Automatic Dual Encoding (ADE), a unique feature built-in to ReQuest’s Serious Play operating system, creates matching MP3 files for every high fidelity song, allowing customers to listen to perfect lossless music in their home and easily sync all of their music to an iPod, iPhone, or any portable device supporting the MP3 format.

“These DRM-free collections from MusicGiants sound spectacular,” says Peter Cholnoky, ReQuest CEO. “Our servers are designed to leverage the quality of these high fidelity albums, cover art, and extended metadata such as composer, conductor, and performance.”

Using ReQuest’s patented NetSync™ technology, collections and playlists are automatically synchronized between multiple homes. For iPod users, NetSync can upload playlists built in iTunes to ReQuest servers and automatically select the MusicGiants’ high fidelity version of the songs when listening in a home.

“We are extremely excited to be delivering our high-definition collections directly into ReQuest customers’ homes,” says Scott Bahneman, CEO of MusicGiants. “ReQuest’s superb music systems create the ideal audio environment to enjoy our high quality music.”

MusicGiants is the only music download service to offer high-definition digital recordings from all of the top music labels including Sony BMG Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, EMI Music, Concord Music Group and Naxos. MusicGiants’ use of the lossless format delivers up to seven times the sound quality of any other download service. MusicGiants also offers Super HD downloads which play in Windows Media Player at rates up to 11,000 kbps.
