Proton Showcases Premium 47 and 42-Inch Puriti

Big New Widescreen TVs Deliver Top Picture Quality Enhanced By 1080p Resolution, Exclusive Proton Processing Technology

CEDIA EXPO, DENVER, CO, Sept. 14, 2006 — Proton Electronic Industrial Co., a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of high-quality, superbly engineered digital TVs, LCD TVs and HDTV products, showcases two premium Puriti High-Definition LCD Televisions boasting large 47-inch and 42-inch screen sizes and brilliant 1080p resolution at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2006, beginning here today.

The 47- and 42-inch Puriti LCD TVs represent the leading edge of Proton’s re-entry into the North American market. The TVs are premium widescreen displays, each delivering a broad contrast ratio of 1,200:1, a high brightness level of 500 nits, and a fast response time of 6.5 milliseconds. They offer dealers and consumers alike a unique high-quality entertainment experience, while also offering a limited number of authorized dealers a viable high-margin alternative to satisfy the expectations of their more refined consumer base.

The thin, elegant, high-definition displays are formatted for 1080p resolution and bright, vivid, accurate colors with rich contrasts and a broad viewing stage. Using exclusive Puriti video processing technology developed and refined over many years by Proton’s award-winning engineers, the TVs deliver reference standard picture quality.

These are images with pure blacks and whites, true-to-life flesh tones, the widest range of colors, screens bright enough for great viewing even in daylight, the fastest refresh rates for crystal clear fast-motion scenes, and the widest viewing angles for the utmost flexibility in placement and seating. Their classic lines make them an ideal fit with the most sophisticated interior decor for high-definition viewing.

Proton’s handsomely styled 47-inch LCD TV features progressive scanning, superb image quality and color purity, a true 16:9 aspect ratio with screen size adjustments to accommodate multiple video sources, an anti-glare screen, and is compatible with resolution formats of 480i, 480p, 1080i, 720p and 1080p.

It comes equipped with NTSC and ATSC tuners and numerous video enhancements, including a Motion Lagging Correction Engine for seamlessly smooth screen action, 3D Color Management, 3-2 Pull Down to accurately convert and display content originally shot for film, adjustable color temperature, and Picture-in-Picture and Picture-on-Picture functions.

Proton’s 42-inch LCD TV also features a generously large anti-glare screen, progressive scanning, superb image quality and color purity, and a 16:9 aspect ratio with 4:3 aspect ratio correction. It comes equipped with NTSC and ATSC tuners and numerous video enhancements, including a Motion Lagging Correction Engine, 3D Color Management, 3-2 Pull Down, adjustable color temperature, Picture-in-Picture and Picture-on-Picture functions. Surround sound circuitry, and two 30-watt speakers are also included.

The Puriti Advantage
Both sets are equipped with Proton’s exclusive Puriti Video Enhancement Technology. Puriti-enhanced LCDs possess a wider color range than conventional LCD or CRT displays. A built-in artificial intelligence system analyzes color frequencies and intensity to assure the screen displays the most natural skin tones possible, and creates the best blacks by automatically compensating for picture detail lost to poor contrast.

Among its many refinements, Puriti processing converts analog signals to a pure digital format, while filtering out noise artifacts. It delivers extraordinarily broad horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 176 degrees, enabling viewers to sit almost anywhere and enjoy a crisp, clear picture. Its 3D De-interlacing and Edge Enhancement capabilities eliminate jagged edges from conventional interlaced video formats, providing smooth edges for moving objects. Its speedy refresh rate empowers LCD panels with the faster response time, virtually eliminating delay or ghosting effects.

Energy efficient, thanks to advanced lamp technology, Puriti processing also delivers the brightest LCD images in the market for vivid color even in a brightly lit room, as well as extremely high contrast ratios for rich color representation.
