Pro-Ject’s T1 EVO Series Turntables Make It Easier to Connect and Start Listening to Your Records

Starting at $449, Pro-Ject’s T1 Evo Series turntables come in three variations with or without Bluetooth and a built-in preamp.

Pro-Ject T1 Evo Turntable Lifestyle

2024 has been a busy year for turntable maker Pro-Ject Audio Systems. Since August, they have released the XA B Transparent Acrylic, the Debut PRO B, and Debut EVO 2. As a follow-up, Pro-Ject has announced the latest edition of T Series turntables, the T1 EVO, T1 EVO Phono, and T1 EVO BT

All of the EVO T1 models include several improvements such as a classic groove-slayer in the Ortofon OM10 MM phono cartridge, a larger Debut-sized sub-platter as well as electronic speed change for all 3 models.

The precision-machined chassis remains free of resonant hollow spaces.

The high-mass tempered glass record platter is anti-resonant & great for rotational stability as well as providing a pleasing visual appeal.

The T1 EVO series incorporates an 8.6” 1-piece aluminum arm tube with high-quality bearings.

For added use flexibility, there are three models to select from as mentioned at the top of the article.

The T1 EVO is a conventional turntable that requires connection to a traditional phono input connection on an amplifier, stereo, or home theater receiver. If that is not possible, you need to place an external phono preamp between the turntable and the audio system.

The T1 EVO Phono takes it up a notch by providing the built-in MM phono preamp that’s also defeatable if you prefer a traditional connection.

The T1 EVO BT has a built-in phono preamp and is also equipped with Bluetooth (BT 5.0, aptX HD) that enables listeners to wirelessly play vinyl records on Bluetooth headphones, speakers, and compatible audio systems.

Shared Features

No matter which model you choose, the T1 EVO series turntables some with a pre-installed OM10 MM cartridge.

Electronic speed change is included in all models (push-button control, no belt handling).

The T1 EVO’s motor drives a belt attached to a larger anti-resonate subplatter (Debut-sized!) which rotates in a bearing assembly machined to tolerances within 0.001mm. It’s comprised of a stainless steel spindle in brass bushing. The full platter is 8mm-thick and is made of tempered glass.

The CNC-machined plinth (available in gloss black, satin white, or satin walnut laminates) uses no plastic and is carefully manufactured to eliminate resonant hollow spaces that would otherwise detract from the sound quality.

Pro-Ject T1 EVO Tonearm

The tonearm is 8.6 inches and is made of one-piece aluminum. It features a  low-friction, no-vibration tonearm bearing.

For added stability, the T1 EVO models all come with vibration-absorbing isolation feet.

To round out the look of the T1 EVO  Series as well as provide protection when vinyl records are played, Pro-Ject provides a transparent dust cover with adjustable hinges.
