CES 2009, Venetian 30-132 — Phase Technology has announced a new multi-room version of its unique dARTS loudspeaker system. With the new system, users can experience the unmatched clarity and precise sonic characteristics of dARTS at any seating position in up to four rooms.
Phase Technology’s dARTS is a family of bi-amped and tri-amped active loudspeakers with a specially designed DP2000 amplifier that powers each driver individually. Each speaker is built with specially designed drivers perfectly matched to produce lifelike dynamics and a seamless and enveloping soundfield; every dARTS system is custom-programmed and leaves the factory software-tuned with each speaker matching a target response curve and each other within +/- 0.5 dB. The DP2000 then employs Audyssey Laboratories MultEQ XT software to analyze a room’s acoustics from multiple locations and based on the measurements, calculates a filter set that corrects for both time and frequency response problems throughout the listening area. These correction filters are uploaded into the DP2000 to give the listener a consistent and enveloping audio experience.
The dARTS multi-room system utilizes the DP2000 programmable amplifier to actively power up to eight bi-amped speakers in four rooms. Each room can be separately calibrated with the Audyssey MultEQ software to correct for the acoustics in each room, with the DP2000 feeding each loudspeaker in the system its own customized signal.
