Panamax MAX 5410 A/V Component Won 2004 Custom Retailer Excite Award

PETALUMA, CA — September 29, 2004 — Panamax, the world leader in power protection and conditioning products, proudly announces that its MAX 5410 Pro has just been honored with Custom Retailer’s Excite Award for 2004. Part of Panamax’s “Signature Series,” the MAX 5410 Pro was designed in part by Michael Candea of Audio Advisors, a Palm Beach, Florida custom installation firm. Candea contributes over two decades experience to the MAX 5410’s design, which is tailored specifically for electronic systems installers who need a power conditioner to complement today’s advanced automation networks.

“With more homeowners outfitting their homes with programmable, automated electronic systems, we set out to give the system installers a component that notably strengthens their design,” commented Bob Smith, vice president of business development at Panamax. “We started with the proven performance of our existing component conditioners, and with Michael Candea’s input, added new features aimed squarely at benefiting installers. We are thrilled by all the positive feedback from industry reviewers on the MAX 5410, and the Custom Retailer Excite Award received at CEDIA Expo 2004 was very rewarding.”

The MAX 5410 Pro was designed to distribute clean power to systems in an automated home. Its RS-232 interface controls the power state of connected equipment, and allows for programming power cycles on components like satellite receivers, which may lock up after downloading software updates. A 12-volt-in trigger, combined with time-delay AC outlet capability, controls start-up and shut-down of amplifiers, and avoids damage to partner components like speakers. A 12-volt-out trigger, generated by the M5410, enables combined automation functions and facilitates one-button system operation by initiating appliances like automated screens, lifts, and draperies. In addition, the M5410 features isolation between outlet banks and noise filtration both at input and bi-directionally between interconnected components.
