OmniMount Plans To Revolutionize The A/V Furniture Business With New Lifestyle Furniture

PHOENIX, Ariz. — September 24, 2007 — OmniMount, the global leader in consumer and commercial A/V mounting and furniture solutions, is partnering with celebrated industrial and interior designer Karim Rashid on a new line of lifestyle furniture, the company announced today. A working sample of the first of their collaborative projects, the Prism 50, debuted at CEDIA EXPO 2007, in Denver, Colorado.

“With this collection we’re taking a fresh look at how we design furniture,” said Zach Eyman, OmniMount’s chief designer. “The intent was to create a radical departure in design, by exploring different shapes, colors and geometries than traditionally seen in the industry before.”

“When OmniMount came to me I was so impressed with their massive line of intelligent mounting fixtures,” added Karim Rashid. I felt that we could collaborate to elevate a needed line of furnishings for our new technologically-savvy homes. Together we will bring the A/V home furnishings category up to speed with the beauty and fulgency of our audio visual age!”

The partnership’s debut collaboration, a cutting-edge media center design called the Prism 50, will exemplify the revolutionary new approach. The Prism 50 employs a hypermodernist trapezoidal shape in a configuration that will accommodate TV displays up to 50″. The Prism 50 features stylish smoked-glass doors, space for a center-channel speaker or sound bar and a bottom compartment for additional A/V components. OmniMount plans to make the units available in high-gloss white, high-gloss black, and titanium finishes.
