The Protected Storage Option gives customers peace of mind when it comes to the protection of their recorded TV shows, music, photos and other media content. This option incorporates a combination of RAID technology with the use of a separate hard disk for the operating system.

OMS Protected Storage option protects customer data by placing the Operating System on a separate physical hard disk and providing RAID 1 or RAID 5 storage technology for the media files. This combination protects media files from OS corruption and hard disk failure. The Protected Storage option is now available for all OMS digital entertainment systems in sizes from 400 Gigabytes to 1.5 Terabytes
