NHT Expands Electronics Line-Up With Two-Channel Power Amp

BENICIA, CA, September 10, 2006 — On the heels of NHT’s inaugural selection of high performance audio electronics, the company today announced that it will ship its third electronics component by the end of this month.

The new Power2 amplifier (SRP: $1,200) is a two-channel, two rack space alternative for end-users who prefer a traditional stereo experience, while giving users of NHT’s Controller and Power5 (five-channel amplifier) the option to upgrade to a 7.1 NHT system.

“NHT’s products play well with others, but they play especially well with other NHT products,” commented Andy Regan, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the company. “The new electronics line, in particular, features a preamp/processor [Controller] and amp [Power5] that communicate via the Ethernet-enabled NHTBus to make sure all mute and standby functions are controlled without the user’s involvement.

“With the Power2, end-users who prefer stereo can enjoy the same high performance benefits of the ‘5’ without paying for additional unused channels. And for consumers who want to step up to 7.1, all they need to do is daisy-chain the two amps by way of the NHTBus for seamless operation.”

The 200 Watt-per-channel Power2 Class D power amplifier is designed for both powerful output and super high operating efficiency that results in a cooler, faster amplifier than most comparably priced products. When interfaced with the Controller preamp/processor via the NHTBus, each channel can be individually controlled and monitored for operational status with virtually no user interaction required.

In a nod to current owners of its Power5 amplifier, NHT includes two NHTBus ports on the Power2, allowing it to communicate with both the previous amp and Controller eliminating the need for an external Ethernet hub.
