NHT Announces Availability of iW4: Companys Most Advanced In-Wall Monitor

BENICIA, CA, September 10, 2006 — As of this month, NHT is shipping a long-awaited, four-driver/ three-way in-wall monitor that replicates the detailed resolution and overall neutrality of its acclaimed Evolution and CLASSIC speaker series.

The new iW4 (SRP: $500 each) uses a four-driver, three-way system that includes a ¾” aluminum dome tweeter, two 5.25″ woofers, and a newly developed 2″ midrange for enhanced dialogue. All drivers are tightly clustered together to provide mounting flexibility and the unerring accuracy associated with the brand.

“The iW4 is just nuts,” said Andy Regan, NHT’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The sonics are on a par with the best of our passive bookshelf models. It’s a remarkable achievement for an in-wall model.

“This speaker represents an important option for installers and homeowners who don’t want to compromise on sound when specifying an in-wall speaker.”

NHT imbued the iW4 with equal parts simplicity and performance. The monitor fits between standard 16″ studs, vertically or horizontally, making it especially easy for installers to physically and sonically match the iW4 with any of NHT’s Classic or Evolution speaker
systems. Alternatively, the iW4 can be ideally paired with NHT’s iWS modular, powered in-wall subwoofer system to create a seamless and stealthy “invisible” stereo or home theater system.

The iW4 features a frequency range of 50Hz — 20kHz, +/- 3dB, with 20 — 150 Watts amplification recommended. Sensitivity is rated at 86dB, and impedance is 8 ohms nominal.

Cutout dimensions are 9.125″ x 13.75″, bezel dimensions are 10.125″ x 14.75″, and depth behind the wall measures 3 1/9″.

NHT’s three-way iW4 in-wall monitor is shipping as of this month.
