NetStreams New KeyLinX KL100 and KL200 Intuitive Keypads Work Seamlessly with the DigiLinX IP-Based Multi-Room Audio System

Austin, TX — February 25, 2005 — NetStreams, the leader in IP-based Networked Audio/Video distribution, is pleased to introduce the KeyLinX KL100 and KL200 single-gang in-wall keypads, designed to work seamlessly with NetStreams DigiLinX IP-based Multi-Room Audio System. Ideal for basic audio control in smaller rooms or sub-zones, both of these keypads can be connected directly to the EIM (Expansion Interface Module) connection on the SpeakerLinX Room Controller / IP-based Amplifier. Both KeyLinX keypads will begin shipping in March of 2005.

“We developed the KeyLinX KL100 and KL200 keypads to expand the pricing options of a typical DigiLinX installation. Both pads are excellent entry-level solutions for rooms where an LCD touchpanel controller is not necessary, such as a smaller room or a sub-zone,” said Herman Cardenas, founder and chief executive officer of NetStreams.

KeyLinX keypads feature 10 laser-etched hard key buttons for easy and intuitive source selection and operation. Attractive, green LEDs clearly display the volume level of the source equipment, and the PC-based DigiLinX Dealer SetUp Program makes programming the hard keys a simple operation.

Both the KL100 and the KL200 feature two EIM connectors on the rear panel — one to connect to the SpeakerLinX Room Controller/IP-based Amplifier and one to connect to an optional Audio Port, thus adding a local source to that room. Both keypads also feature a built-in IR window for the pass-through of IR to a local source, which may be connected to the optional Audio Port.

In addition, the KeyLinX KL200 features a built-in microphone for future Voice-over-IP applications, as well as another LED for “monitor,” “do-not-disturb,” and “message” modes.

NetStreams’ DigiLinX family of IP-based products offers very high-quality and high-performance multi-room audio, control capabilities never seen before, and a robust user experience only available in high-cost systems. This innovative product line, using NetStreams’ StreamNet patent pending technology, is the first IP-based multi-room audio system in the custom market; ‘IP-based’ meaning a system that is not only controlled over IP, but also distributes its audio and video over packet-switched streams. DigiLinX delivers on the promise of convergence, effectively marrying networking technologies with hi-fidelity audio–and later video–marking the introduction of ‘Networked Digital Entertainment’.
